NCC

Residents in Sjöboviken, Västeråsen and Grythem will receive municipal water and sewage. There are local networks in all areas. Transmission lines are now being built in Örebro and Västeråsen to connect the residents to the municipal network. The work is being carried out in two stages, with the Örebro-Glanshammar section forming one stage and the Glanshammar-Västeråsen section forming another. The stages are being built in parallel.

Unique parallel welding technology

In April 2020, work began on the phase between Glanshammar and Västeråsen. The construction of this phase is being carried out by NCC on behalf of Örebro municipality and is expected to be completed in autumn 2021.

Powerheat Plastic Sweden AB has been commissioned to weld the almost 50 kilometres of pipes involved in the project. The team on site has developed a unique technique where three pipes are welded in parallel in a container at the same time. This makes it possible to produce almost 5 km of pipes a week, while being independent of support in terms of storage, movement and laying of finished pipes. The work will be completed in autumn 2020.
