PED - Manufacturing
For us at Power Heat, certifications are a stamp of quality. We are mainly involved in regulatory processes, such as the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) with associated design standards such as SS-EN 13480-4 (Industrial piping) and SS-EN 13 445-4 (Pressure vessels).
We have a well-developed documentation and quality management system that ensures good execution and accurate final documentation. We are also accredited by Swedac as inspection body C for pressure testing with gas.
Standard EN 13480 and standard EN 13445.
Standards EN 13480 and EN 13445 are European standards relating to the design and manufacture of pressure equipment. Both these PED welding standards are harmonised under the EU Pressure Equipment Directive (PED.). This means that equipment complying with these standards can be sold in the EU without additional requirements. Through safety and quality, they contribute to raising the safety and quality level of equipment and systems in the EU.
SS-EN 13480: Metallic industrial pipelines.
This standard covers a scope of

- installation
- testing
- inspection
- maintenance of metallic pipelines
Its purpose is to ensure operation, establish requirements for materials, manufacturing processes, calculations, tests and documentation. The standard is used in various industrial sectors, such as
- petrochemicals
- gas
- nuclear power.
But also in other sectors where safe and reliable pipework is essential.
EN 13445: Pressure vessels
This PED welding standard focuses on the design, manufacture and conformity assessment of pressure vessels made of steel and nickel that are not intended to be exposed to low temperatures. The purpose of the certification is to
- define safety requirements for production and operation
- include detailed calculation methods for shells, bottoms and connections
- it covers topics such as material selection, manufacturing processes, testing and traceability.
The application is important for manufacturers and users of pressure vessels in the chemical and petrochemical industries.
