European Spallation Source
The European Spallation Source (ESS) is one of the largest and most advanced scientific infrastructure projects being built in Europe today - and it is being built in Lund.
Complex missions where quality is key
The facility includes the most powerful linear proton accelerator ever built, a five-tonne helium-cooled tungsten wheel, 22 state-of-the-art neutron instruments and a number of laboratories.
Power Heat has been selected as one of three framework agreement suppliers for the manufacture and installation of mechanical infrastructure and components. Most of our work consists of advanced industrial pipework installations with very high demands.
For example, we have installed stainless steel piping systems for helium distribution in dimensions from DN25 to DN300. We have built cooling water systems for test facilities, manufactured advanced connection modules for vacuum components and delivered orbital welded pipework systems for gas distribution. In short, a variety of high-quality deliveries, all of which are based on our way of handling complex assignments, large and small, where everyone has their special conditions and unique requirements.
Our close cooperation with ESS places very high demands on us, which gives us great opportunities for continuous development of our operations and our operating systems in the areas of welding, quality and environmental management and the working environment.
